Unsafe electronic insect killers recalled

Electronic insect killer
Voluntary recall: Consumers are urged to stop using and return this electronic insect killer.
*

Consumers are advised to stop using the electronic insect killer (model: YW-936A/IK1600) supplied by EPSA Corporation.

A recent test has found that its plastic material does not have adequate resistance to heat and fire.

The device, supplied between April and August this year, poses a potential fire risk when excessive sparks are generated during electrocution of insects.

The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department advised consumers to return the device to the supplier as soon as possible for replacement or a refund.

For enquiries, please call the supplier's customer service hotline 2565 6276.
