A substantial award of damages has been made in favour of the Housing Authority in arbitration proceedings arising out of the defective piling for Blocks D and E of Contract 166 of 1997 relating to Sha Tin Area 14B Phase 2.

The Housing Authority and the piling contractor - Zen Pacific, have now received the Arbitrator's Interim Award and are considering any further action that needs to be taken in connection with the arbitrator's award.

Arbitration was made after the defective piling works for blocks D and E were detected in early 2000.
