The HK Clipper has finished fourth in the Clipper 2002 Round the World Yacht Race, which ended in Liverpool at the weekend.

The InvestHK sponsored-yacht clinched its fourth place during the race's final sprint from Holyhead to Liverpool. Overall race winner was the Jersey Clipper.

Director-General of Investment Promotion Mike Rowse congratulated the HK Clipper crew on their top achievement in the gruelling endurance race.

"As one of the sponsors, InvestHK is delighted to be associated with this competition which gives us an opportunity to showcase Hong Kong's advantages within the context of a dynamic international sporting event."

The clipper competed against seven other identical yachts, each backed by a city - New York, London, Cape Town, Glasgow, Jersey, Bristol and Liverpool.

It clinched victory in the first leg from Liverpool to Cascais, Portugal, last November and also won the Hawaii to Yokohama leg in early March.
