People should join the fight against atypical pneumonia and support those in need.
This was the message from Equal Opportunities Commission chief Anna Wu who said any divisive behaviour will hamper surveillance and make it difficult for those who wish to seek medical help, ultimately creating detriment to society.
More than 160 enquiries on atypical pneumonia have been received since March 24.
The commission also got 13 complaints, with half of them on employment.
Ms Wu called on employers to provide staff with the maximum level of flexibility in dealing with sick, special-paid and pregnancy leave.
She also urged the community to protect and respect the privacy of people affected, adding that disclosure of any information should go no further than the block and name of a building.
