The Wetland Cultural Festival will be held at the Wetland Park February 13 to 28.

The event features fun-filled programmes, including short film McDull at Wetlands, dramas, interactive workshops on wetlands, biodiversity and climate change, and an art gallery. Click here for details.

The World Wetlands Day 2010 celebration ceremony was held at the park today to mark the success of the four-month educational and promotional Bird Watching Festival programme, and to commend the volunteers who participated.

The theme of World Wetlands Day 2010 is Wetlands, Biodiversity & Climate Change. The park organised 80 activities on the theme which drew more than 5,000 participants.

On October 17 more than 2,000 people gathered at the park and set a new Guinness World Record for creating the world's longest painting.

To date the park has recorded more than 230 bird species, accounting for half of all those recorded in Hong Kong. Sixty per cent are migratory birds with 11 endangered species, including the black-faced spoonbill.
