Thumbs up: The Environmental Protection Department has rated 11 beaches 'good' for this weekend - though it might be a tad chilly for a swim.

Water quality at 11 beaches has been rated 'good' for this weekend, while three others are 'fair'.

'Good' beaches are Big Wave Bay Beach, Shek O Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, South Bay Beach, Deep Water Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach, Hairpin Beach, St Stephen's Beach, Middle Bay Beach, Turtle Cove Beach and Repulse Bay Beach.

Golden Beach, Silverstrand Beach and Clear Water Bay Second Beach are rated 'fair'.

Seven beaches are closed to swimmers year round because of poor water quality. They are Anglers' Beach, Approach Beach, Ting Kau Beach, Casam Beach, Gemini Beaches, Hoi Mei Wan Beach and Lido Beach.
