HK, Shenzhen sign market-data pact

The information business subsidiaries of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange have signed an agreement for a market data collaboration programme.

It will help investors who are interested in shares of issuers that have listed in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen. It will benefit investors in both markets and help increase the visibility of issuers with securities trading in the two cities.

Under the programme, both parties are entitled to redistribute the other party's basic real-time market data for firms with securities listed in both markets to their own authorised information vendors for onward transmission to these vendors' subscribers for internal display purposes.

The usual exchange fees for market data will be waived for the two parties, their information vendors and their vendors' market data subscribers.

The programme will come into effect on May 1, and will expire at the end of next year together with another similar collaboration programme with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
