Secondary student tourism ambassador training programme
Putonghua performance: Standing Committee on Language Education & Research Chairman Michael Tien visits the achievement exhibition held by student tourism ambassadors at the Avenue of Stars.
*

The Standing Committee on Language Education & Research has launched a new training programme of secondary student tourism ambassadors to introduce local culture and scenic spots in Putonghua. More than 280 students from 40 secondary schools will participate.

Committee Chairman Michael Tien said the programme allows students to practice Putonghua as they introduce the exhibits to tourists.

Students receive three-months' training, including speaking skills, tourism studies and field trips to historical sites.

Eight outstanding teams have been selected to hold an achievement exhibition at the Avenue of Stars until May 12.
