Volunteers wanted for job safety project
*
Labour Department

The Labour Department is recruiting volunteers aged 17 or above for its occupational safety project for small and medium enterprises to be launched mid-June.

The Customer Service Teams Project aims to raise occupational safety and health awareness. This year about 250 volunteers will visit 15,000 non-industrial SMEs to promote occupational safety and health over the next four months. Business services, sanitary and related services and wholesale and retail services will be their targets.

Volunteers will conduct a survey to assess bosses' work safety and health knowledge, and distribute publicity materials on the relevant laws.

Enrolment forms and project details can be downloaded from the department's website or the Social Welfare Department's website on Volunteer Movement.

For enquiries, call the Labour Department on 2852 3565-4970 or the Social Welfare Department Central Office for Volunteer Service on 2234 0100.
