Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Music Office's instrumental music training scheme is seeking slot-in and intermediate year-one trainees for 2007-08. Click here to obtain more details and application forms. The deadline for applications is May 11.

With an annual enrolment of more than 4,000 trainees, the scheme offers training in different string, wind and Chinese musical instruments, such as violin, viola, cello, flute, saxophone, erhu, dizi, and zhongruan, with supplementary courses in musicianship and theory to provide a comprehensive course of music training.

Weekly group lessons, from elementary to advanced level, are conducted in Cantonese at the Music Office's music centres in Wan Chai, Kwun Tong, Mong Kok, Sha Tin and Tsuen Wan. Annual tuition fees of $2,420 for intermediate level and $3,190 for advanced level are payable in four instalments.

Qualified applicants will be invited to attend an audition in June, and notified of audition results by mid-August.
