The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council has launched its 2007-08 fellowships and scholarships for overseas studies, including an award for disabled students. The closing date is September 29.
Successful candidates are expected to have a strong sense of commitment to Hong Kong and be ready to contribute significantly to the community upon graduation.
The fellowships are for studies leading to postgraduate degrees either through research or coursework, and the scholarships are for studies leading to undergraduate degrees.
The fellowship is worth about $251,000 a year for up to three years for a doctoral degree or two years for a master's degree while the scholarship is worth about $232,000 a year for up to three years.
Shortlisted applicants for fellowships and scholarships for overseas studies must attend the first round of interviews scheduled for December 2006/January 2007. Suitable applicants will be invited for a final interview in March or April 2007.
Shortlisted applicants for the Overseas Fellowship / Scholarship for Disabled Students will be invited to attend one round of interviews in March or April 2007.
