Students are invited to join the Primary & Secondary School Students' Welcome Card & Bookmark Design Competition for the Hong Kong Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organisation in December.
With "Welcome our friends from all over the world" as the theme, the competition is organised by the Ministerial Conference Co-ordination Office and the Education & Manpower Bureau.
It is divided into four groups - Lower Primary (Primary 1 to Primary 3), Upper Primary (Primary 4 to Primary 6), Junior Secondary (Secondary 1 to Secondary 3) and Senior Secondary (Secondary 4 to Secondary 7).
Participants can use any style and materials to create their single sided welcome card (270mm x 180mm) or bookmark (240mm x 40mm) design in two-dimensional form.
Publicity potential
Individual designs should be produced on A3-size cartridge paper (420mm x 297mm) as a painting, collage or print. Any entry can be selected for reproduction as souvenir and publicity material.
Each school can submit up to 20 entries of each category for each group. Each student is eligible to participate in both categories of design, but only one entry for each category can be submitted.
All entries will be initially selected by the bureau's Arts Education Section for an outstanding award. The adjudication panel will select three pieces of excellent artwork from the outstanding entries in each group of the two categories - 24 in total. Winners will be awarded a Certificate of Excellence and a $1,000 book coupon.
All entries should be submitted to the Arts Education Section, Education & Manpower Bureau at 5/F, 4 Pak Fuk Road, North Point, Hong Kong on or before October 15. Call 2564 9662 for enquiries or click here for details.
