School selection days coming up

*

Children who have not secured a discretionary place for September under the Primary One Admission System can choose a school through Central Allocation this weekend.

Central Allocation participants will be allocated a Government or aided primary school place. The allocation results will be announced on June 4.

Parents should have received a letter from the Education & Manpower Bureau's School Places Allocation Section inviting them to fill in and return a Choice of Schools Form at a specified Central Allocation Centre.

Each centre will operate from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on January 15 and January 16. Parents who have not yet received the invitation letter should call 2832 7700.

Parents who have recently moved or have plans to move are required to inform the section so their children can be allocated a school place in the school net where their new home is located.

For enquiries on allocation procedures, call the bureau's 24-hour automatic telephone enquiry service at 2891 0088.
