Astronaut Yang Liwei will speak to Hong Kong's school children and others in the education and science sectors on Monday.
The national hero and the rest of the delegation of experts behind China's First Manned Space Mission have been invited to give a lecture on space flight at City Hall at 10am.
More than 1,000 participants, including academics, teachers and students, will learn from and exchange ideas with the astronaut, and the space scientists and engineers.
There will be a live broadcast of the lecture, and schools are encouraged to make arrangements for teachers and students to watch the programme.
After a luncheon with the education sector, the delegation will attend a gathering with over 2,500 teachers and students from primary and secondary schools at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai at 2.45pm. They will tour an exhibition of aerospace exhibits produced by local students.
The forum is co-organised with the Beijing-HK Academic Exchange Centre, the Society of HK Scholars, the HK New Generation Cultural Association, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and RTHK.
