A new scheme to attract Mainland talent and professionals to work in Hong Kong will be implemented from July 15.
Once the new scheme is launched, the existing Admission of Talents and Admission of Mainland Professionals Schemes will be abolished.
The Immigration Department said there is no sectoral restriction or quota under the new scheme. The candidate must possess professional skills or knowledge not readily available, or in short supply, locally.
It is hoped the scheme can meet local manpower needs, so as to facilitate local economic and other development and to enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness in the globalised market.
Apart from professionals in the commercial and financial fields, talent and professionals in the arts, culture and sports sectors as well as those in the culinary profession can also apply.
Application forms, guidance notes and information pamphlets on the scheme are available free from the Immigration Department Headquarters, Immigration Branch Offices, District Offices, the Immigration Section of the Hong Kong Government office in Beijing, and the HK Economic & Trade Office in Guangdong.
Information and application forms can also be downloaded from the Immigration Department website.
Employers can put their job vacancies on the Labour Department's Interactive Employment Service website so that interested Mainland talent and professionals can approach the relevant employers direct for job applications.
