The 2009 provisional registers of electors will be released tomorrow for public inspection until June 29, the Registration & Electoral Office says.
More than 3.37 million registered electors are carried in the provisional register for geographical constituencies - roughly the same as 2008. Of them, about 60,000 electors are newly registered.
The number of functional-constituency voters fell to about 227,000, down about 3,000. Any change in addresses and other registration particulars should be reported to the office by June 29. Click here for details.
The omissions lists will also be published tomorrow, for the names of people who are no longer eligible for registration, that will be removed.
Anyone who has applied to register but does not find his name in the relevant register, or whose name is included in an omissions list, or who finds his entries are incorrectly recorded, may lodge a notice of claim in person with the office by June 29.
Those who consider a person is not eligible to be registered may lodge a notice of objection in person by the same date. Download the specified forms for claims and objections here or get one from the office.
People can call 2891 1001 to check if their names are listed in the provisional registers or the omissions lists.
The final registers will be published by July 25.
