Estate Agents Authority

Steven Poon and Anthony Chow have been appointed as the new chairman and vice-chairman of the Estate Agents Authority with effect from November 1.

Mr Poon, the current Vice-Chairman, has been appointed as the chairman for one year in place of Marvin Cheung who will retire.

Mr Chow has been appointed as the vice-chairman for one year in place of Mr Poon.

Meanwhile, Amy Liu has been appointed as a member to fill a consequential vacancy.

Commenting on the appointments, Secretary for Housing, Planning & Lands Michael Suen said the Government is grateful to the retiring founding Chairman for his leadership, vision and innovative ideas in leading the work of the authority.

"We are confident that under the new leadership of Mr Poon and Mr Chow, the Authority will continue to work strenuously together with the estate agency trade in promoting their integrity and competence," he added.

The Authority was established on November 1, 1997, under the Estate Agents Ordinance. It aims to improve the standard of service provided by estate agents and to protect consumers involved in property transactions.
