Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa will receive the first batch of SARS medical supplies and protective gear supplied by the Central Government, in Huanggang in Shenzhen on May 8.

State Councillor Tang Jiaxuan will on behalf of the Central Government, present the supplies to the Chief Executive. Director of the Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office Liao Hui will also be there.

At a meeting with Mr Tung on April 12, President Hu Jintao pledged the Central Government's full support. Premier Wen Jiabao reiterated this at a meeting with Mr Tung in Bangkok on April 29.
