April 07, 2017

The Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra will stage two concerts in May.

Led by music director Dr Yip Wai-hong and guest conductor Lio Kuok-man, the concerts will feature violinists Jang Yoo-jin and Andrew Ling.

The concerts will include Sarasate’s Navarra, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, Dvorak's Symphony No.8 and the world premiere of Yip Wai-hong's Splendour of the Desert.

Lio is the first Chinese to serve as the Philadelphia Orchestra's assistant conductor, while Ling, a Hong Kong native, has won acclaim for his orchestral playing and solo recitals in Hong Kong, North America and Europe.

Presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the concerts will be staged at 8pm on May 12 at Sha Tin Town Hall, and at 8pm on May 13 at Yuen Long Theatre.

Tickets are available at URBTIX.
