Police station to mark anniversary

History retrospective:  The Peak Police Station will be open to the public to mark its 130th anniversary.

The Peak Police Station will be open to the public on November 27, December 3, 4, 10 and 11 to mark its 130th anniversary.

 

The station was built in 1886 and classified as a Grade 3 Historic Building by the Antiquities Advisory Board.

 

The event will feature displays of police uniforms and equipment in different eras, videos showing the station’s development, game booths and performances by the Police Dog Unit and Police Band.

 

The station will be open in four sessions-from 9am to 10.30am, 11am to 12.30pm, 2pm to 3.30pm and 4pm to 5.30pm. 

 

A total of 2,000 free admission tickets will be distributed from 9am tomorrow outside the Report Room of Wan Chai Police Station and Central Police Service Centre. Each person can get two tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Visitors can take the shuttle bus which will depart at 8am, 10am, 1pm and 3pm from Exit A of Admiralty MTR Station.

 

More than 120 visitors from different social welfare organisations and schools including the elderly, students, new immigrants and the disabled were invited to visit the station today.
