Poster design competition opens

August 13, 2016

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today called on designers to enter its Touch - Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2017 competition.

The event comprises the poster design competition, an exhibition and a forum.

The department wants to assemble a distinct international poster collection and foster graphic design education and cultural exchange with other regions.

Five editions of the competition have been held so far, and this year's theme is "Touch".

The competition will be organised under four categories: "Ideology", "Promotion of Cultural Events", "Commercial & Advertising" and "Thematic - 'Touching'".

It will be conducted in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the International Council of Design. Judging assessment will be based on originality, creativity and technical competence.

Each category will have Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, and the Judges Awards.

All selected entries will be published in the exhibition catalogue and be featured in the exhibition to be held next year at the Heritage Museum.

The assessment panel comprises five internationally renowned designers, Kjell Ekhorn from Norway, Kazunari Hattori from Japan, Tommy Li from Hong Kong, Ariane Spanier from Germany and Niklaus Troxler from Switzerland.

Entry deadline is October 31 and the results will be announced in March.
