Russian pianist Arcadi Volodos will return to Hong Kong for a recital at 8pm on July 26 at City Hall.
The programme includes German classics including Schumann's early masterpiece Papillons, Brahms' introspective 3 Intermezzos and one of Schubert's final sonata sets Piano Sonata No. 20 in A.
Volodos' boundless virtuosity and unique sense of phrasing, colour and poetry have made him an ideal "narrator" of Romantic musical tales. Since his New York debut in 1996, Volodos has performed throughout the world with many eminent orchestras and conductors.
