The Film Archive will screen movies featuring Chinese folklore characters including Monkey King and Red Boy, from January 29 to February 14 to usher in the Year of the Monkey.
The Great Leap with the Monkeys series includes King Kong's Adventures in the Heavenly Palace (1959), Hong Kong-Korean joint production The Flaming Mountain (1962), and a comedic spin-off of The Journey to the West, Monkey in Hong Kong (1969).
The films are in Mandarin or Cantonese. Some will include Chinese and English subtitles.
