To celebrate the 110th anniversary of Kunqu opera Maestro Yu Zhenfei’s birth, two Kunqu virtuosi will present masterpieces from their mentor's prized repertoire.
The Jingkun Theatre's main cast will include Cai Zhengren, Tang Yuen-ha, Lu Yongchang, Zhou Xuefeng, Zhao Wenying, Sun Jinghua, Lou Yunxiao, Tan Xiao and others.
The performance on June 26 will include excerpts from
The Little Cowherd and
Asking the Way from
The Chain Scheme.
On June 27, they will feature excerpts from
Beating the Flower Drum and
Looking Homeward from
Su Wu Herding Sheep.
The shows will be held at City Hall at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at $350, $240 and $100 at URBTIX.
