Teacher study programme opens

November 27, 2017

The third programme under the Education Bureau's "i-Journey" Paid Non-local Study Leave Scheme for Secondary School Teachers has opened for application.

It will be on STEM Education and will offer 15 places.

It will be held at the University of Exeter in the UK from mid-April to early June next year.

Participants will spend four weeks in the UK to take part in structured learning courses and school attachment overseas.

In addition to the overseas study leave, teachers will get another three weeks to research their programme before departing.

The bureau launched the three-year pilot scheme in August to give teachers a unique learning experience which will tap into new perspectives and the latest global education developments.

The first two programmes on Interdisciplinary Learning & Entrepreneurship Education and Catering for Students with Special Educational Needs received around 120 applications.

Selection results will be released next month.

Applicants who have previously submitted an application for the first two programmes can also apply for the third programme.

The application deadline is January 2.
