Mainland study subsidy launched

August 04, 2017

The Education Bureau is inviting local students to apply for a non-means-tested subsidy for Mainland university studies.

Launched today, the non-means-tested subsidy programme is an extension of the Mainland University Study Subsidy Scheme implemented in 2014 to subsidise local students pursuing undergraduate studies at designated Mainland institutions.

Under the scheme, students who pass a means test will receive either a full-rate subsidy of $15,000 or a half-rate subsidy of $7,500 per year.

The new non-means-tested programme will give eligible students an annual subsidy of $5,000.

The application deadline is October 3.
