Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung visited the Sino-HK Enterprises Job Expo today.
Forty well-known Hong Kong and Mainland enterprises offered more than 3,000 vacancies at the two-day fair at Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai, which opened yesterday.
It was held by the Labour Department and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association.
Mr Cheung was briefed on latest recruitment situation and spoke with jobseekers. He asked whether they would consider working on the Mainland, saying the nation's rapid development in recent years has created huge job opportunities.
He said the fair showed jobseekers some of the vacancies available on the Mainland, adding he is confident biliterate and trilingual youngsters with a global outlook will enjoy solid career prospects if they grasp the opportunities arising from the Mainland’s economic development.
