Secondary school forms available

December 09, 2014

From tomorrow, parents of Primary Six students participating in the 2013-15 Secondary School Places Allocation System will receive two application forms for Secondary One discretionary places through their children's primary schools, the Education Bureau said today.

Students not studying in participating primary schools, including newly arrived children, can obtain the forms from the bureau's School Places Allocation Section.

Parents who want to apply for a place in government, aided, caput secondary schools and Direct Subsidy Scheme schools participating in the system must submit the form to the schools concerned between January 2 and 21.

Order of School Preference One stands for the student's first choice, and Order of School Preference Two stands for the student's second choice. If parents apply to more than two schools their applications will be void.

Students who are successful in the application will not be allocated a school place in central allocation, the bureau said.

A list of schools joining the exercise will be available in the Handbook for Application for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places, which will be distributed to primary schools and available through the bureau's website tomorrow.
