The Education Bureau announced Betty Ip’s appointment as Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Free Kindergarten Education today.
The appointment takes immediate effect until the expiry of the committee's tenure, tentatively scheduled for next April.
Mrs Ip served in various positions in the former Education Department, the former Education & Manpower Bureau and the Education Bureau until her retirement last month.
As the Deputy Secretary for Education she participated actively in the committee since its establishment in April last year.
Secretary for Education Eddie Ng welcomed Mrs Ip’s appointment.
