Maths masters: Eight Hong Kong secondary-school students have won a gold, four silver and three bronze medals in the 10th China Western Mathematical Olympiad 2010.

Eight Hong Kong secondary-school students have won a gold, four silver and three bronze medals in the 10th China Western Mathematical Olympiad 2010.

 

Li Yau-wing from Ying Wa College won the gold medal. The four silvers went to Kung Man-kit from SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School, Andy Loo and Lau Chun Ting from St Paul's Co-educational College as well as Wong Sze-nga from Diocesan Girls' School.

 

The three bronze medals were won by Hui Lok-hin from Shun Tak Fraternal Association Leung Kau Kui College, Lee Shing-chi from SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School and Man Tsz-kit from Kwun Tong Maryknoll College.

 

The competition was held October 26 to 31 in Taiyuan, Shanxi, with 104 students in 24 teams taking part.
