Customs officers arrested a 31-year-old man at Shenzhen Bay Control Point yesterday after seizing 35 gold slabs from the vehicle he was driving.
The gold weighs 35kg and has a market value of $11 million.
Anyone found guilty of importing or exporting unmanifested cargo is liable to seven years in jail and a $2 million fine.
