Customs officers have arrested 22 people and seized 1.87 million illicit cigarettes in a week-long operation.
The seizures have an estimated market value of $5.2 million and a duty potential of $3.65 million.
About 1.8 million illicit cigarettes were seized from an incoming lorry at Lok Ma Chau Control Point yesterday.
The 52-year male driver was arrested.
In another two cases, officers arrested three people and seized 50,000 illicit cigarettes from two flats in Yau Ma Tei and Sham Shui Po.
During the week, 17 peddling cases were also detected with 20,000 illicit cigarettes seized and 18 people arrested.
