A supermarket owner was fined $8,000 by West Kowloon Magistracy today for selling frozen fish fillets with false trade descriptions.
Customs officers bought two packs of fillets labelled as "grouper fish meat" and "sole fish fillet" at the supermarket.
Tests found they were actually catfish fillets.
Officers then seized another 46 packs of the fillets bearing the false labels from the supermarket.
Consumers can call the Customs hotline 2545 6182 if they suspect goods bear a false trade description.
