A 32-year-old Pakistani illegal worker has been jailed for 15 months by Fanling Magistracy.
Immigration Department officers arrested him in Kowloon Bay earlier this month where he was working illegally.
He is a non-refoulement claimant holding an immigration recognisance form that prohibits him from working.
He was charged and convicted on June 10 for taking up employment in Hong Kong without the authority of the Director of Immigration and while being a person in respect of whom a removal order was in force.
A person suspected of employing the illegal worker has also been arrested.
The investigation is ongoing.
