Customs officers have seized 73,300kg of endangered species wood logs worth $10 million at the department’s cargo examination compounds in Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi on July 26 and 28.
Acting on risk assessment, officers inspected three 20-foot containers arriving from Thailand with declaration to contain wood timber, and found Dalbergia cochinchinensis wood logs inside.
The wood logs were seized for investigation.
