Amber alert issued for Kumamoto

In view of the latest situation in Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan, the Government today issued the Amber Outbound Travel Alert for the area.

 

The alert for other parts of Japan remains unchanged.

 

Hong Kong people planning to visit Kumamoto Prefecture or who are already there should monitor the local situation, exercise caution, attend to personal safety, and avoid travelling to earthquake-affected areas.

 

They should also pay attention to advice of the local authorities, particularly on possible aftershocks.

 

The Security Bureau is monitoring the situation and will issue updates through the media and its website.
