The Immigration Department arrested 24 illegal workers and their employers in a city-wide crackdown between October 27 and 29.
Immigration officers raided restaurants, market stalls, flats under renovation, warehouses, recycling depots, a cark park, a massage centre, a theatre, an exhibition centre and an office, and arrested 14 illegal workers, and a man and a woman suspected of employing them.
Six male and four female Mainland visitors were arrested for breaching their conditions of stay by being involved in parallel goods trading in Sheung Shui and Lok Ma Chau.
A total of 2,549 Mainlanders and 15 Hong Kong residents have been arrested for parallel goods trading since September 2012. Of these, 222 Mainlanders have been prosecuted, and 211 of them have been jailed.
