Customs officers have arrested a lorry driver after finding 800,000 illicit cigarettes in his vehicle at Lok Ma Chau Control Point today.
The haul was valued at $2.2 million with a duty potential of $1.5 million.
Officers inspected the lorry, declared to be carrying express cargo, and found the cigarettes inside 58 fake dip soldering devices.
The 45-year-old male driver was arrested and his lorry was seized.
