The Immigration Department has been voted winner of the 2015 Skytrax Award for Best Airport Immigration Service.
Accepting the award yesterday, Director of Immigration Chan Kwok-ki said he was delighted and encouraged by it, adding that the department has introduced measures including non-stamping immigration clearance and reciprocal use of automated immigration clearance services to enhance visitors' travel convenience.
Mr Chan also thanked his colleagues for their dedication and commitment to quality service, and encouraged officers to continue making concerted efforts to provide efficient services to travellers with courtesy and compassion.
Airport Authority Chief Executive Officer Fred Lam said it has provided enhancement measures to help with the department's manpower deployment, and will set up new enrolment booths to boost e-Channel services for frequent visitors.
Skytrax said the plaudits were based on 13 million survey questionnaires collected between May 2014 and January 2015 from air passengers representing 112 nationalities, covering 550 airports worldwide.
