Civil Aid Service invites recruits

The Civil Aid Service is inviting people interested in serving the community and undertaking various emergency duties to join as officers or members. The recruitment drive ends on January 12.

 

The service provides civil support during emergencies. It works closely with other full-time disciplinary forces to undertake emergency duties during natural disasters such as typhoons, floods and landslips, it also helps rescue distressed hikers and fight hillfires.

 

The service's members are sent out for crowd management duties at major public events and for patrol duty in country parks and on hiking trails. They can also be asked to perform cadet management and youth training duties in the CAS Cadet Corps.

 

Permanent residents aged 16 or above, who can speak fluent Cantonese and read Chinese can apply. Applicants aged under 18 will need to provide their parent or guardian's written consent. Only applicants aged 18 or above who have a bachelors degree or higher are qualified to become officers.

 

The recruitment selection process includes a functional and fitness test, a Chinese and English written test, an interview and a medical examination.
