The Department of Justice and the Police will strictly enforce the law when dealing with those who stormed the Legislative Council complex, Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen said today.

Responding to reporters, Mr Yuen stressed that if there is enough evidence, protesters who tried to force their way into LegCo this morning will face charges because he does not want to send out the message that lawbreakers can get away.

He urged people not to resort to violence as a means of expressing their views, as he believed most Hong Kong citizens wanted non-violent protests.
