Police urge protesters to cooperate

Police reiterated today that acts endangering public order and safety will not be tolerated, and appealed to protesters not to obstruct or charge at officers. 

 

At about 1.10am, officers saw a man on the central divider of Lung Wo Road near Tamar Park kick a bottle which the hit a car driving past. Police arrested the man for disorderly conduct in a public place.

 

During the arrest, a large crowd of protesters tried to obstruct the police and surrounded them. The protesters ignored repeated warnings and attempted to charge at the officers. OC Foam was used to disperse the demonstrators.

 

During the incident, another man was arrested for assaulting a police officer. A total of three officers were injured.
