Customs officers arrested a man at Lo Wu Control Point yesterday after they found about 2kg of suspected methamphetamine worth about $1.14 million wrapped around his waist.
There was also a small amount of suspected methamphetamine in his pocket.
The 50-year-old man, who claimed to be a decoration worker, was charged with trafficking and possession of a dangerous drug.
He will appear at Sha Tin Magistrates' Courts tomorrow.
The maximum penalty for drug trafficking is life in prison and a $5 million fine.
