Chief Secretary Lam welcomes the Legislative Council’s measures to step up security to avoid further violent outbreaks.
Mrs Lam told reporters today that she met with LegCo’s chairman and secretary last Saturday to voice the Government’s concerns in the wake of the violent occurrence on Friday, and asked them to take actions.
She called on people who plan to protest against the New Territories new development plans tomorrow to express their views in a peaceful and rational manner.
“We really don’t want to see any more violence or to have any one get hurt,” she added.
