Secretary for Security TK Lai arrived in Canberra yesterday, continuing his visit to New Zealand and Australia.
Mr Lai met with Secretary of the Department of Immigration & Border Protection Martin Bowles to exchange views on refugee status determination procedures, the country's skilled migration programme, and its automated border processing system.
He also visited Deputy Head of Mission and Minister/Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Australia Xue Bing, and met Australia's Justice Minister Michael Keenan and Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane.
He also spoke at a luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Sydney for the Parliamentary Friendship Group.
