IRD issues alert on fraudulent emails

The Inland Revenue Department has issued an alert on fraudulent emails from accounts similar to xxx@ird.gov.hk.
 
The department says it has no connection with the messages, which have attachments containing computer viruses with names such as "Form_ird.gov.hk.zip", "File_2183065.zip", or "File_4730881.zip".
 
The case has been reported to Police for further investigation.
