Alert issued on bogus bank site

The Monetary Authority has issued a warning about an email purporting to be sent from China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation, which links to a fraudulent website asking customers to enter user names and passwords.
 
The bogus site looks similar to the bank's Internet banking logon webpage.
 
The bank has clarified it has not sent the emails and has no connection with the fraudulent website.
 
Police are investigating the case.
 
Anyone who has provided personal information to the fake website, or conducted transactions through it, should contact the bank on 2779 5533 and Police on 2860 5012.
