The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department is responsible for the secure, orderly and efficient production and marketing of agricultural and fishery produce; enforcing regulations on plants, pesticides and animal controls; and conserving our natural environment and safeguarding the ecological integrity.
Security Bureau
The Security Bureau maintains law and order, exercises immigration and customs control, rehabilitates offenders and drug abusers, and provides emergency fire and rescue services.
Immigration
The Immigration Department controls the movement of people into and out of Hong Kong. It also issues HKSAR passports and other travel documents, visas and identity cards, and handles nationality matters and the registration of births, deaths and marriages.
The Immigration Department is still looking for two Hong Kong people missing in Japan since the earthquake and tsunami in the country earlier this month.
It said it will continue to monitor the two cases and take whatever action is appropriate.
Meanwhile, the Security Bureau said the radiation level of fresh water in Hong Kong remained normal for the last 24 hours up to noon today, while food and products imported from Japan have also passed radiation tests.
The radioactivity level of all water samples the Water Supplies Department tested showed no change. The radiological quality of fresh water remains normal and safe.
Customs officers have checked 16,189 air consignments and 63 sea containers, including two consignments of pharmaceutical products and 12 of cosmetics. No irregularities have been detected.
The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department has continued to collect samples from local fish culture zones and fish wholesale markets for radiological testing. All results are satisfactory.
Fifty-four food samples imported from Japan, including 53 samples by air and one sample by sea, have been tested by the Centre for Food Safety. All were satisfactory.
