Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman, in connection with a case in which a newborn girl died in Mong Kok yesterday afternoon.
At about 12.50pm yesterday, Police received a report of a newborn girl found inside a guesthouse room on Sai Yeung Choi Street South. Police found the baby inside the toilet and sent her to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was certified dead at 2.47pm.
Police arrested the woman at a guesthouse on Tung Choi Street in Mong Kok at about 11pm. She had abandoned the baby after giving birth to her inside the other guesthouse.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted this morning to determine how the baby died.
