A property owner has been fined $10,500 for failing to comply with a statutory notice under the Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme to appoint a registered person to inspect and repair a balcony.
The composite 14-storey building, which is 37-years-old, is in Yuen Long.
The statutory notice was issued under section 30B(5) of the Buildings Ordinance.
Prosecution was initiated against the owner for failing to comply with the statutory notice by its expiry date.
The owner was fined on October 28 at Tuen Mun Magistracy.
